RESVERATROL
Resveratrol, a naturally occurring phytoalexine found mainly in Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) and red grape skins, has been associated with a wide range of health benefits. Listed below are some of the findings of these studies.
In animal studies, Resveratrol has been demonstrated to:
- Activate longevity gene extending healthy lifespan
- Protect against degenerative diseases of aging
- Significantly increase physical endurance by as much as 100%
- Reduce heart rate and energy-charge muscles during exercise
- Protect from gaining weight and developing metabolic syndrome
- Increase number of energy generating mitochondria in muscle cells
- Improve mitochondrial function
- Fend off metabolic disease
- Protect from negative metabolic effects of a high fat diet
- Lower blood fat
- Provide the same health benefits of caloric restriction
- Increase activity of healthy enzymes called sirtuins
- Scavenge harmful free radicals preventing free radical damage
- Open arteries by enhancing nitric oxide
- Stop proliferation of cells in blood vessels that narrow the arteries
- Keep blood cells from sticking together
- Boost HDL (good) cholesterol
- Reduce incidence of coronary heart disease (CHD)
- Protect against ischemia - reperfusion - induced arrhythmias and mortality
- Reduce fatty deposits in the liver
- Protect the brain against oxidative stress, keeping cells alive
- Block or stop many stages of cancer
- Kill cancer cells
- Protect against skin cancer
- Prevent tumor growth and metastasis in lung carcinoma
- Inhibit inflammation limiting damage by stroke
- Inhibit inflammation limiting damage from inflammation causing injuries
- Stop growth of dangerous bacteria
- Protect immune cells
- Protect DNA
- Help circulation

GRAPE SEED EXTRACT
The health promoting biologically active components of grape seeds are called Oligometric Proanthocyanidins, Proanthocyanidins, or OPC's. The grape seed extract used in BioSynergy's resveratrol formula contains a minimum of 95% with typical assay at 99.99% proanthocyanidins. Proanthocyanidins are bioflavonoids that perform as free radical scavengers in the body. Grape Seed Extract's powerful antioxidant activity is 15 to 20 times stronger than that of Vitamin E and 50 times stronger than that of Vitamin C.
In animal studies, Grape Seed Extract has been demonstrated to:
- Raise good HDL cholesterol
- Support capillary strength
- Reduce DNA fragmentation in the brain and liver by 50% after exposure to a harmful chemical
- Reduce a type of protein that impedes the brain’s ability to make new cells
- Increase and normalize beneficial proteins in the brain that are diminished with age
- Prevent insulin resistance
- Stabilize blood sugar and mobilize fat by strengthening metabolism
- Limit sun-induced papillomas from turning into carcinomas
- Reverse some skin damage caused by the sun
- Prevent blood clots reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke
- Stop ulcers
- Preserve bone strength
- Preserve teeth
QUERCETIN
The super antioxidant Quercetin, one of the strongest biologically active members of the flavonoid family, is found in grapes, yellow and red onions, and some other fruits and vegetables. Like Resveratrol and Grape Seed Extract, studies with Quercetin are numerous and ongoing.
In animal studies, Quercetin has been demonstrated to:
- Prevent damage to cell DNA and inhibit enzymes that spur tumor growth
- Protect white blood cells from environmental toxins
- Destroy dangerous free radicals superoxide and peroxide
- Prevent oxidative damage to red blood cells
- Protect brain cells from free radical damage
- Protect against cardiovascular disease
- Inhibit absorption of LDL (bad) cholesterol
- Inhibit blood cells from sticking together
- Lower plasma and hepatic cholesterol
- Lower serum and liver lipid and cholesterol
- Inhibit onset, replication, and pathogenic effects of hepatitis A
- Protect the liver against toxic exposure caused by industrial chemicals in the environment
- Protect against type II diabetes induced vision loss, macular degeneration, and cataracts
- Inhibit inflammatory activity of neutrophils in type II diabetes, therefore protecting vascular system
- Reduce the severity of allergic occurrences by suppressing the release of histamines
- Reduce inflammation lessening arthritis and pain
- Inhibit type of enzyme that HIV uses to replicate
- Inhibit bacteria, fungus, and viruses
- Strengthen immune system
- Lower high blood pressure
- Block biochemicals that contribute to dermatitis
- Shorten recovery time of lung inflammation in pneumonia patients
- Inhibit release of histamines helping to combat allergies such as hay fever
- Prevents viral illness
- Helps maintain mental performance under conditions of extreme physical stress.
